We are a non-profit organization providing dental clinic services, prevention, education and outreach to underprivileged kids in Orange County. We are one of the top community dental clinics in Orange County and currently are experiencing significant growth as we expand the programs we’re providing to the community. We are looking for a self-driven Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. You will be working closely with the VP of Finance and will have opportunities for career development and advancement.

Essential duties include:

  • Assist with monthly close, prepare monthly journal entries
  • Maintain Balance Sheet monthly reconciliationsProvide workpapers to external auditors during year-end audit
  • Supervise Data Analyst in a/p processing and bank reconciliations
  • Generate a/p checks
  • Prepare bank deposits
  • Maintain the fixed asset and associated depreciation schedules, including ensuring proper recording of purchases and disposals
  • Maintain and reconcile other balance sheet accounts including prepaid expenses and accrued liabilities
  • Be a key contributing member in maintaining an environment of best in class internal controls
  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending improvements
  • Process payroll through ADP
  • Prepare annual use tax report
  • Financial analysis projects
  • Other special projects

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 5 years experience in corporate and/or nonprofit accounting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, able to disseminate information clearly/concisely
  • Strong organizational skills & detail oriented
  • Strong knowledge of basic accounting and debits and credits
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize so as to maximize efficiency
  • Microsoft office applications competency; strong working knowledge of Excel, and Word
  • Experience with QuickBooks is a plus
